Diana Triformis
To Luna
Hearken, O divine queen, light-bringing and splendid Selene.
Bull-horned moon traversing the air in a race with night.
Nocturnal, torch-bearing maiden of the fair stars.
Moon, waxing and waning, feminine and mmasculine,
Glittering lover of horses, mother of time, bearer of fruit,
Amber-coloured, brooding, shining in the night,
All-seeing, vigilant, surrounded by beautiful stars,
You delight in quiet and in the richness of the night.
Shining in the night like a jewel, you grant fulfilment and favour;
Long-cloaked marshall of the stars, wise maiden whose motion is circular,
Come!
Blessed and gentle lady of the stars, in three ways
Shine your redeeming light upon your initiates.

Now at last I salute your
potent art,
and kneeling I beg by
Proserpina's realm,
by Diana's immoverable
godhead, by your books
of incantations strong to
unfix the stars
and call them down from
the sky, Canidia,
leave off at length your
supernatural spells
and let the swift wheel reverse, reverse.
-Horace, 'Iam iam efficaci'
